Yemenis Buying Property in Turkey

The number of Yemenis buying property in Turkey  in September this year has increased by 536% compared to the same period of 2015, the year in which the war has started in Yemen.

The number of housing units bought by the Yemenis in September this year has increased by 536% compared to the same period of 2015, the year in which the war has started in Yemen. While the housing units sold to foreigners increased by 98%.

With the increase in the number of housing units bought by 170 Yemenis in September 2015, the year when the war started in Yemen, by 536% during the same period of this year, the number reached 1082 units. While the number of units sold to the foreigners in Turkey reached 32,268 units as it increased by 98% compared to the period between January and September in 2015.

In the same period Yemenis property sales has increased almost doubled 5.5 times compared with the number of property sold to other foreigners.

The number of housing units sold to Yemenis in 2015 was 231 units, 192 units in 2016, 390 units in 2017, 851 units in 2018, while it recorded 1082 units in September this year.

Among the foreigners who bought the largest number of housing units, Yemenis ranked 20th in 2015, 15th in 2017, 11th in 2018, 9th in 2019, and remained out of the top 20 in 2016.
